In today's world of global communication and international travel using just English is not enough. It really pays to have at least one foreign language and Spanish is the obvious choice, whether it be for business, holidays or even a change of life. Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world and being able to speak it means that you will be able to communicate with another over 400 million people!

Spanish courses are not covered by the British Council Accreditation Scheme.

UIC London offers a wide choice of Spanish language courses. Lessons include a balance of conversation, listening, pronunciation, grammar to help you survive and communicate in everyday situations in Spanish speaking countries.

Our courses are designed for those who wish to study a language over a longer period of time. With the aid of a text book, the syllabus aims to provide useful, relevant language using up-to-date and interesting materials, as well as encouraging participants to practise the language to help confidence and develop fluency.

Programmes run consecutively so it provides the opportunity for continuous training, allowing students to progress and move up to a higher level once the course is finished.

We use an interactive method of teaching based on learning by practising. That means that grammar is covered as much as possible by using practical situations, so speaking and actively using the language is central. Successfully implementing the interactive method totally depends on the personal attention your teacher is able to give you. Our groups never have more than twelve students on all courses.

A large part of the study material is presented in the form of practical activities and exercises through which you will learn to understand and speak Spanish almost without noticing. In class, we make use of videos and other audio-visual materials. Naturally you will also be set weekly homework!

UIC London offers Academic year courses in Spanish available also in Italian, French, Japanese and Mandarin Chinese.

This course is designed for students who want to study any of these languages for a longer period of time and want to make clear progress through a number of levels

Lessons include a balance of the four languages skills. Speaking, listening, writing and reading to help you understand and communicate in everyday situations.

We use a communicative method of teaching, which means that grammar and vocabulary is taught through working in groups and pairs using the language in simulated practical situations.

A large part of the study material is presented in the form of practical activities and exercises through which you will learn to understand and speak the target language almost without noticing. In class, we make regular use of videos and other audio-visual materials. Naturally you will also be set weekly homework!
