Londres é um dos locais mais fascinantes do mundo. Para além de museus mundialmente conhecidos, galerias, monumentos, igrejas e edifícios famosos, existem clubes, cafés concerto, musicais, teatros e com certeza lojas. Aqui residem 2000 anos de história, casas de escritores e músicos famosos e tudo o mais que possivelmente queira.
Talvez seja surpreendente mas muitas são totalmente grátis! Para além de tudo o que Londres proporciona também temos os nossos próprios programas sociais onde organizamos diversas actividades durante a semana – algumas grátis e outras a pagar. Só para lhe dar uma ideia do que Londres tem para si:
:Museums: British Museum, Science Museum, National History Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Museum of London are ALL FREE ! Galleries: National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, Tate Britain, Tate Modern, Wallace Collection are ALL FREE !
Parks: Hyde Park, Regents Park, St James Park, Green Park, Holland Park are ALL FREE!
South Bank: You can walk along by the river Thames from Westminster Bridge (opposite the houses of Parliament) past the London Eye, the Festival Hall (listen to FREE music), past the National theatre, the Tate Modern, (FREE) Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, the City hall (home of the Mayor) and up to Tower Bridge (FREE to walk across). You will get fantastic views of the city and St Paul’s cathedral and the opportunity to sit outside one of the pubs or cafes along this part of the river.
Street Markets: Portobello Road, Camden Market, Greenwich Market, Petticoat Lane, Brick Lane Market, Borough Market (for food), Colombia road market (on Sundays for flowers and plants). ALL FREE
Free music: The Festival Hall on Friday evening and often Sunday lunchtime, Monday lunchtime recitals at the Royal Opera House, FREE lunchtime concerts at St Martins-in-the-fields near Trafalgar Square and at St James’ in Piccadilly. Notting Hill Arts Club – often has FREE evening and Saturday afternoon concerts with new bands.
Then there are pubs, restaurants, football (London is home to 5 premiership teams) the Olympics in 2012, trips on the river, ice skating, concerts, exhibitions, musicals ……… and of course our own UIC events which include: Visits to pubs, bowling, musicals, restaurants, tour of BBC, clubs, weekend trips out of London to Oxford, Cambridge, Salisbury, Stonehenge, and our famous student parties! |
