Portuguese is the 7th most widely spoken language in the world (following Chinese, Spanish, English, Hindi, Bengali and Arabic). Portuguese and Spanish are also the fastest growing after English and Portuguese has the highest potential for growth as an international language in South America and Southern Africa. UNESCO estimates Portuguese speaking countries will have 335 million people buy 2050! The biggest country where Portuguese is a native language is Brazil which is one of the major growing world economies.

We have designed a syllabus for Brazilian Portuguese which provides a balanced mixture of the important elements of learning a language. Whatever the reason for you learning - work or pleasure - we will help you to become communicative. Teachers use a variety of materials, including text books, audio-visual and the web. They will also cover more formal aspects of language - grammar and wherever possible in practical situations so you can understand how language is used. You will have homework every week.

The minimum age for our Foreign Language courses is 17 unless otherwise notified.

Brazilian Portuguese group classes have a maximum of 14 students. Programmes run consecutively so there is the opportunity for continuous training, allowing you to progress and move up to a higher level once a course is finished.

Deciding where to learn Portuguese is not necessarily easy, but we are one of the biggest Language Schools in London and have many many years experience. You can call us anytime between 9am and 8pm.

Learn Portuguese in LONDON

Courses are designed to follow the Council of Europe syllabus. This is essentially a list of different things you should be able to do in the language, and by looking at the table below you can get an idea of how long it might take you. We teach Portuguese at several different levels - from Complete Beginners up Advanced. Our levels progress as follows:

It is important for us that you join the appropriate level. If you have been in contact with Portuguese before, we will need to find out your level. As your speaking and writing level might not be the same, you will have to take our online test and also a quick speaking assessment with one of our teachers. Speaking and communicating is very important in our classes, so it is important that we speak to you in Portuguese. If you are not a complete beginner and you want to try a lesson to see if it is the appropriate level for you, we can also organise this.
