Una delle ragioni principali per cui i nostri studenti ci scelgono è l’ubicazione della nostra sede. Siamo in Mortimer Street, a cinque minuti a piedi da Oxford Circus ed Oxford Street. La stazione di Oxford Circus è servita da due linee della metropolitana – la Central e la Victoria Line ed è facilmente raggiungibile da tutte le zone di Londra. Ci sono inoltre moltissimi autobus che passano per Oxford Circus.
L’edificio della scuola è parte del patrimonio della Corona (proprietà della Regina!) e faceva originariamente parte dell’Università di Westminster. È composto da quattro piani, due dei quali occupati dalla UIC, tre in estate quando il numero degli studenti cresce, ed è dotato di ascensore.
Abbiamo dieci aule che possono ospitare fino a 14 studenti ciascuna. Il numero totale di studenti che possiamo avere contemporaneamente è di 140. Le aule sono diverse fra loro: alcune con tavoli e sedie ed altre con sedie con pianetto ribaltabile, più adatte dove si voglia favorire uno stile di insegnamento più comunicativo. Le aule sono attrezzate con le appropriate tecnologie – abbiamo anche a disposizione TV e lettori CD e DVD.
Gli ambienti della scuola sono tutti molto luminosi e, all’occorrenza, condizionati.
We have an e-learning lounge where you can access the internet and use the student community and our specialist e-learning packages. This may sometimes be used by your teacher as a classroom when it is appropriate for your learning.
There is also our main office / reception where you can find our student services team. We also have an office next door (at no 80 Mortimer Street where our admissions, marketing and finance departments are located. We have teachers’ room, and an office for the Director of Studies.
D’estate, quando abbiamo bisogno di più aule, usiamo l’Università di Westminster – nella vicina New Cavendish Street, a circa dieci minuti a piedi, dove prendiamo in dotazione 6/8 aule, un ufficio ed una sala per gli insegnanti. L’università offre tanti servizi – strutture informatiche, una caffetteria ed una libreria. A volte ci serviamo anche delle aule della School of Economic Science anch’essa a dieci minuti a piedi dalla nostra sede centrale. Le nostre aule sono sempre confortevoli, luminose e tranquille.
Rinnoviamo continuamente le nostre attrezzature e facciamo del nostro meglio per fornire le strutture che voi studenti ci richiedete. La posizione centrale della scuola è ideale per chi voglia visitare i numerosi caffé ristoranti, snack bar e le librerie di Londra centro. Se volete qualcosa che non si trova nelle strutture della scuola non avete che da chiedere.
Whilst for most of the year your classes will be in the main school building at 76 Mortimer Street, it is possible (and more possible during the summer) that your classes will be held in other locations very near to the school. These locations are all very close to the school and are of a very high quality. During 2009 and 2010 UIC has held classes at these premises as well as at our main building in Mortimer Street.
