Hours per week	20 lessons a week - (15 lessons of 60 mins General English plus 5 lessons of 45 mins conversation class. Total class time = 18.75 hours)
Start dates	Start any Monday (the school is closed for 2 weeks over Christmas and courses start on Tuesdays if the Monday is a public holdiay)
Levels	Elementary to Advanced levels. If you are a beginner (i.e no English) you MUST contact us before booking
Class times	This course is available both in the mornings - from 09.00-12.20+12.40-13.25 or in the afternoon from 12.40-13.25+13.40-17.00, Monday-Friday

This course combines the study of General English with an extra skills class which will cover a wide range of different language skills including speaking and listening, grammar, vocabulary development and writing, and everyday language. Many students like to take these additional lessons, where the teacher concentrates on encouraging you to experiment with and actually use the language that you have learnt and become more confident in using it.

The syllabus for this course is based on a number of different factors and these vary from level to level. In general the syllabus at UIC progresses from beginner through to advanced in a structured and comprehensive way.

While the details for the timetable change every week, the teachers at UIC will always provide a well-planned and well-balanced class. Each class should contain a mixture of reading, writing, listening and speaking practice and grammar structures and new vocabulary will be introduced and practised throughout the week. We consider reviewing and revising language to be a crucial part of learning and we have tests every 2 weeks to monitor progress. We also have tutorials to find out what students want to study and how best to progress.

We have classes at many different levels from Elementary through to Advanced. We make sure you are in the right class from the beginning and spend some time on your first day both testing you and talking to you about your aims. Then we can make sure you go to the right class. The level test is grammar, writing and spoken to give us the best idea of your different skills.

You will be given regular tests and tutorials in your class and when the time is right you will move to the next level. There are different ways of measuring progress and predicting where you will be in a certain number of weeks, almost all of our students make faster progress than the national average. Our exam pass rate is above the national average as well. If you would like more information about how much progress you can expect please just ask us.

Learning a language is in many ways just like learning anything, it is best done if you have a teacher who has the experience, skills and resources to help you.
