Our Foundation year course is designed specifically to get you into University. It not only gives you the skills in language but also studyskills and an understanding of the environment you will be in when you stufy at university. Oour experience over many years of successfully getting our students into university is that it is this combination of skills which is critical. There are many Foundation Year courses available but very few which are so small and focussed and which have the same kind fo success. If you would like more detailed informaiton about the course, the background of the teachers and where some of our successful students have gone onto study please contact us.

Ths course normally runs from September to June - for 36 weeks. If you have the right level of English then it may be possible to join the course in January for 24 weeks. If you are planning to do this please check with us first.

IELTS Exam techniques; academic vocabulary; time training; understanding the question; skimming and scanning; model essays; timed essays; listening and reading practice; exam and academic speaking
Cultural Studies Cultural awareness; British media; British Education system; Geography; Britain; History of the English language; History of London; The Monachy; World Religions; British History - 19th century - now.
General Studies Samples - depends on subjects students are going on to study at university but may include Sports Science, psychology, media studies, art history
Business Studies

The Economy; Management; Company Structure; Products; Banking; Marketing; Central banking; International trade; IT and Commerce

At UIC we have the experience to help you achieve your goals - the teachers who work on these courses have expoerience both as teachers and as teacher trainers and can help you continue with your professional development.
