Preparation Objectives Follow-up

Prior to departure, you will be provided with:

  • Programme Handbook
  • Course Reading List
  • A detailed questionnaire to complete indicating your level of experience and the ages and nationalities of the students you have taught
  • An Aptitude Test will be taken on arrival to determine the CEFR level for the Language Enrichment Programme

You will develop professionally by exploring your own experience and sharing ideas with colleagues from other European countries. A language enrichment course accompanies this programme, following a structured syllabus in line with CEFR levels. This enables you to extend and deepen your knowledge of the English language.

Courses are hands-on and interactive, enabling you to be fully immersed in the subject matter. Trainer-led classroom sessions use the techniques and approaches being discussed so that the practical application of methods can be experienced within the programme. This is supported by in-depth discussion group work. You will build up a bank of classroom ideas to take back to your school.

You will return to your home countries with renewed enthusiasm for their profession. They will also receive:

  • Contact details of tutors and colleagues to facilitate ongoing development and exchange of ideas
  • A Feedback Questionnaire evaluating the course and ideas collected during the programme
  • A Bibliography of suggested further reading matter

Learning a language is in many ways just like learning anything, it is best done if you have a teacher who has the experience, skills and resources to help you. At UIC we have the experience to help you achieve your goals - the teachers who work on these courses have experience both as teachers and as teacher trainers and can help you continue with your professional development.

UIC is a language school in the centre of London. As well as English we also teach 10 other languages to around 400 people a week. We are accredited by the British Council and ISI (the private school equivalent of OFSTED) and all the languages we teach are inspected. We are also an award winning school, we are the only language school in the world to have won both of the major awards - the STAR Language School in Europe (voted on by travel agents worldwide) and the British Council ELTon award for innovation in English Language Teaching.
