Our history

UIC was founded in 1997 and gained British Council Accreditation in 1999; we started teaching Foreign Languages in 1999 and ran our first Residential summer School for teenagers in 2006. The school was originally located in James Street - just off Oxford Street near Bond Street and we operated there until 2006 when we moved to our current premises in Mortimer Street. We have always run the school in Central London and have always understood what a central London school needs to offer.

In 2012 we taught around 5000 students.

The school was originally founded by the Japan Centre Group and taken over by its current owners - Neil Upton and David Wilkins in 2005.

Accredited by the British Council Private Further Education UIC won the STAR English Language School in Europe award in 2011 Accredited by English UK
