UIC is accredited by 2 different organisations. The British Council Accreditation covers teaching English, and the inspection looks at all the aspects of the school - Management, Resources & Environment, Teaching & Learning, Welfare & Student Services. The inspections are every 4 years and we are inspected separately for the adult school in London and for our Summer vacation courses for children and teenagers. The London school was last inspected in 2010 and the summer schools in 2012.
We are also inspected by the ISI (Independent Schools Inspecorate) which is an equivalent of Ofsted for independent boarding schools and language schools. This inspection also covers our Foreign Language Teaching. We were inspected in 2012 and the report can be read here.
We are additionally members of English UK - our industry association. Being members of English UK gives students a guarantee of certain standards and a procedure to follow if there are ever any problems which need to be looked at independently.
We are approved by the UKBA to issue documentation for and to sponsor students for Tier 4 Student Visas. Our Sponsor number is FPVW2PXQ3.
In terms of awards we have won the 2 major awards for our industry. The STAR awards sponsored by Language Study Magazine are awarded annually in several categories. UIC London won the STAR English Language School in Europe in 2011 and was shortlisted in 2008, 2010 and 2012.
We also won the ELTon (The British Council award for innovation in Language teaching) in 2011 for our course - The Communication Station. Only one other language school has ever won this award and no other school has ever won both awards.
